Prior to 2008, all Touring Models came with a 2-piece clamping system. This is cheap and unsafe. You must replace with WO538 billet clamp.
Also, newer touring models can use this as well to strengthen handlebar mounting.
There are a lot of aftermarket risers and clamps available out there. Make sure you use a solid clamp on all bikes to assure a secure handlebar mount.
When tightening down clamps on bars, do not use a cross hatch pattern like you would on a wheel or derby cover. Make sure the left and right sides are equal. If not the bars will look crooked because it twists the risers.
HD heated grips do work with our bars. You will be required to trim 3/8" off the left tip of the bar end. This is due to the fact that the heat controller takes up room in the depth of the grip which doesn't allow the clutch perch to fully seat against the CHUBBY area of the bar. Same with some shorter grips.
In 2015 when the Road Glide was reintroduced, the changes were awesome. We came across 1 issue, the bar clamp system only allowed bars that were specifically designed for this one model of bike. We designed a clamping system that allows the use of any handlebar that has a 1" clamping system WO539
